Valentines Day...
The day everyone tries to tell me to "enjoy it while you’re single". Trouble is they didn't enjoy it when they were single.
That is the trouble with advice. Everyone knows lots of it except when they needed it.
Here is some absolutely unqualified advice for all you lovers since I have nothing better to do.
If you are just now realizing today is Valentines Day then go for Spontaneous. Some girls have not yet realized that Spontaneous is just a code word for ‘I didn’t plan anything special’.
If you have been planning for a while please, Please, do something romantic and unexpected, If you are lucky enough to have a girl, knock her socks off!, surprise her, skip the chocolate and roses and do something creative (ok, maybe not the chocolate).
Last piece of advice… If you are a girl and you’re reading this and your guy decides to do something Spontaneous… Give Him a break, and don't tell him I rat-ed him out.

I've actually enjoyed this day, even though I'm single... it was rainy and cold and I had to write a midterm and read 10,059,342 pages on the mind-numbingly boring history of communications, but at the end of the day, I did not binge on 17 pounds of chocolate while wallowing in self-pity; I am not party to the obscene murder of helpless roses; and I have not dwelled even for a moment on how alone I feel around here. I'm gonna kick back, watch 24, and go to bed. :p
I do hope all those ladies and gents in love are doing something special for each other, though... I know I'd be doing something crazy and fun, for sure.
Hi! Thanks for posting on my site. :) And your idea for valentines day is totally awesome. Us girls do love when their boyfriend/husband go out of their way to make something speical. (even the non-romantic days)
I've also been told to enjoy life while i'm single. And this is great advice, but i agree with you.. if they were honest, those people probably didn't enjoy valentines or any other day being single either.
I laughed at the "spontaneous just a code word for I didn’t plan anything special." lol, is this really true in guy speak?
I will probably get shot for telling you this but it is true. It is not always true but many times... Yes.
I'm new to your blog and I must say it's good! My views on Valentine's Day are posted on my blog.
That's totally fine. Girls have a "special" vocab too. At least you're honest. :)
heheh..somehow i have lost weight today (gee a whole bleeping 112 lbs.. my sister likes to stick a sting on me and fly me like a kite in thunderstorms)i digress)... even with a pound of chocolate covered cashews from russel stovers....single is fun...mostly..its hard to have conversations with yourself though... people stare.for some odd reason. guy speak is fun.
How true!
I always remind myself how miserable I was when I was single, which helps me digest the fact that I'm married.
That and the nightly sex really help me deal with it.
My favorite Valentine's days have been either the single ones or the ones when the boyfriend at the time forgot to plan anything. For me, nothing is worse than having to dress up to eat expensive food with a whole bunch of other couples. Last night I had a ball eating pizza with a couple friends (one girl and one boy). I do love being single though...no one to answer to, no one to worry about. And single isn't lonely...at least not with so many darn people around. I've been fighting for alone time for as long as I can remember.
You know, advice is generally worth approximately what you pay for it. Feel free to send me questions anytime ;-).
Hope you had a great day.
I've just created my own BLOG about romantic ways to say I LOVE YOU or express him/her how much you love the person.
I just feel creating it so I did...
I'm so in love...
