Who Thinks This Stuff Up?


I was watching a commercial for a certain unnamed fast food restaurant and a Chicken Select Strip was talking to me. It was saying something about how great it was to be a Select Strip. Does anybody else feel like their intelligence is being insulted by some of the commercials out there? If you haven’t seen that one, all I have to say is, "Money Tree" as another example and you will know what I mean.


I went to a certain sub sandwich restaurant and got a medium drink. Then I got a lid, at least I tried to get a lid. Their medium lids don’t fit their medium cups. They are like 1 mm too small. They have them clearly labled and set up, easy to get to they just dont actually go on. So a cup company sold them cups and lids that don’t match… How does this happen?


Last of all, I called Tech support for a friend, to fix his cable internet. The guy on the line had a real thick accent and immediately tried to hose me.

Me: Yah Hi, my Cable doesn’t work there is a problem with the modem.

Tech: Have you registered the modem online…

Me: Uh... No, I can’t get online, that’s the problem.

Tech: Sir, If you register the modem online it will make the call go a lot faster.

Me: Yah, see that’s the problem... I can’t get online…

Tech: Sir, Please register the modem first and then call back.

Me: Ok, I don’t think you understand, if I could get online and register it I wouldn’t be talking to you.

Tech: Sir, I need you to call back…

Me: I am not going to call back, you register modem! You should be able to do it over the phone, I am not hanging up or calling back until this works!

After that we got somewhere. I don’t get it; I don’t get how they can’t get it. Does this just happen to me?

No, it's not just you.

Once when I moved from one state to another I was getting my new driver's license. They took my old one, and asked how I would like to pay.

"Check."

"OK, I need to see your driver's license."

Lol!
I don't think that they actually 'think' this stuff up- it's a lack of thinking that makes those people so annoying! Especially when it comes to Tech Support. Grrr!

Don't you just hate that !
I was over at my Aunt's at Christams , she had problems so we rang the helpline ... the Asian could not understand her Liverpudlian accent , so I had to translate.

Obviously you've never worked in a corporate training center. Their stupidity is mandated by strict protocol as is every word they say. Their higher-ups got paid large cash to think up that procedure you experienced.

My folks went to a restaurant that
features pies, had their meal, and then ordered a piece of pie ala mode for dessert and a whole pie to go.

When they'd finished eating, the waitress came over with a box; my father opened it and found the pie he'd wanted with one lonely scoop of ice cream sitting in the center. When asked about it, the waitress told him it was his pie ala mode to go.

I live in Naples Florida and we just had Hurrican Wilma come through and it nocked out our power. I called up Florida Power and Electric to find out when they thought power might be restored.

She said the evening news would have an update at 8PM and I should watch for it.
